The Unofficial Mr. Bigglesworth Fan Club!

The one, the only, Mr. Bigglesworth!

Welcome to the Unofficial Mr. Bigglesworth Fan Club. This is, of course, a site dedicated to everyone's favorite hairless Sphynx as seen in the hit trilogy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers in GoldMember.

Mr. Bigglesworth, in addition to being an attractive lap ornament, is Dr. Evil's most trusted confidant and chief consultant in all matters 'evil.' Remember, when Dr. Evil gets angry, Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset, and when Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset, people DIE!

With the invention of Mini-Mr. Bigglesworth for Mini-Me in the second movie, Austin now faces double the diabolical hairless trouble as before in his fight against Dr. Evil.

Since February 1999, The Unofficial Mr. Bigglesworth Fan Club has been keeping the world in touch with evil's advocate (Dr. Evil, that is).

What's NEW pussy cat? (updated 4/19/2008): WOW! It's been FIVE years to the day since my last update to this site...how time flies. Unfortunately, not too much is new in the world of Mr. Bigglesworth without another Austin Powers movie in production.

However, I was e-mailed earlier this week by Michelle Berge, owner of Belfry Sphynx (www.belfrysphynx.org) and Ted Nudegent (aka Mr. Bigglesworth), who helped to clear-up a slight inaccuracy on this site regarding which sphynx played Mini-Mr. Bigglesworth in the second film. Previously, we'd posted incorrect information from Jane Reilly, editor-in-chief of Cats magazine, stating that a sphynx named Mel Gibskin played the role of Mini-Mr. Bigglesworth in the sequel.

Berge writes: "Mel (Gibskin) was supposed to play Mini-Me's kitten (in AP II), but he grew too fast and poor Mini-Me couldn't carry him. So, the kitten's part was played by Belfry (sphynx) Paul Nudeman. Mel went on to play in an episode of "Friends" and a bunch of other less memorable things. Mike Meyers really did get along well with Ted (Nudegent). When they started shooting on the second movie and he and Ted were to have their first scene together, he made everyone wait, even though they were behind schedule, so that he and Ted could get reacquainted."

Be sure to check out the photo slideshow featuring some of Belfry's beautiful sphynx kitties at http://s144.photobucket.com/albums/r191/belfrysphynx/?action=view&current=1168908986.pbw.

**************************************************

Mr. B. got shafted on screen time in GoldMember, appearing for a matter of only seconds on the arm of Kevin Spacey dressed as Dr. Evil in the Austin movie-in-a-movie spoof (and I thought AP II really slighted our favorite feline's presence).

The last official AP merchandise I've seen with Mr. B on it was the two Austin Powers 2001 calenders (desk calendar and oversized wall calendar). One or two of the shots were previously unpublished and are candid shots from the 1999 Superbowl teaser shoot for Austin II).

CONTEST STILL OPEN (04/19/08): The "Design a Stunning Title Banner for The Unofficial Mr. Bigglesworth Fan Club" contest is being relaunched. Up for grabs is one of those elusive plush Mr. Bigglesworths that were Spencer's Gifts exclusives a few years back...all you need to do is design a snazzy title banner for this site. Feel free to use any images from this site or elsewhere, but be sure to make it smashing...I'm looking for something professional in appearance to greet visitors to this site. Start designing now and e-mail me at the new address of shaeggy@yahoo.com with your submissions (or maybe better yet, a LINK to your submission).

In April of 2000, on a rebroadcast of a June '99 episode of Late Night, Mike Meyers was chatting with Conan O'Brien about filming with Mr. Bigglesworth. Conan said Mr. B. was "the world's ugliest cat." Mike rebutted, saying Ted (aka Mr. B) was a great cat that "feels like you're holding someone's ass." Kinda makes you want your own Sphynx, eh?

McFarlane Toys released a new, 9" sculpt action figure of Dr. Evil with Mr. Bigglesworth (see pic below). A 9" Austin in blue velvet suit and a 9" Fat Bastard in casual duds complete the line.

Because of the smashing success of the initial series, McFarlane Toys released a second series of Austin Powers figures, including a MINI-MR. BIGGLESWORTH figure packaged with Mini-Me II. Sadly though, there isn't a second Mr. Bigglesworth figure in this line, nor in the Austin III figure line (the latter NOT done by McFarlane).

Here's a little movie nugget I just discovered: Mr. Bigglesworth meets the press at the Hollywood premier of Austin Powers 2.

They're out! Austin Powers in GoldMember and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me are now available for purchase on VHS and DVD...and it won't cost you one hundred billion dollars either.

Check out the photos of Mr. Bigglesworth with his "handler" at the Hollywood premier of Austin Powers II in the gallery at the right of this page.

The Unofficial Mr. Bigglesworth Fan Club is mentioned in the Readers Forum (page 8) of the July issue of Cats magazine (with the Mr. Bigglesworth cover), the June 11th issue of the Contra Costa Times, and the June 11th issue of The Philladelphia Daily News.

Austin Powers merchandise flooded stores at during the movies' theatrical runs, but the well seems to have run dry (save for any "Clearance" AP items possibly still at your local Spencer's Gifts). In the way of Bigglesworth items I've spotted so far, see the Mr. Bigglesworth Merchandise Gallery here.

Mr. Bigglesworth has been named "Cat of the Year" by Cats magazine! Mr. Bigglesworth's photo shoot is featured in the July issue of Cats magazine (on newsstands now!). Read the USA Today story here (Apparently, the author of this USA Today story dropped the ball. According to Jane Reilly, editor-in-chief of Cats magazine, Mr. Bigglesworth's real name is "Ted Nudegent," *NOT* "Mel Gibskin" as mistakenly reported by USA Today). So it's "Teddy," as he is sometimes called, who fills Mr. Bigglesworth's collar. Thanks to Jane for setting us straight.

Mr. Bigglesworth also has a great photo with Mike Meyers in the June issue of GQ, a small photo in the Mike Meyers issue of Rolling Stone, a photo in the sequel CD artwork, and a place on Heineken beer displays (with T-shirt offer which includes the head of Mr. Bigglesworth, among other Austin faves).
