• Where I am, Where I came from:

I was born in London, England in 1981. I moved to America when I was about six. I attended the second and third grades in Saint Francis Academy (a Christian school) in Union City, NJ. I moved out of the Christian school system and then attended a public school in a suburb, Edison Township, NJ. I currently reside in a Edison. I am the class of 1999 (high school) and class of 2003 (college) and then comes med school.
  • Prior Religions I Had Adopted & Studied:

I studied and practiced Christianity (as in praying in a Christian Church at school, and reading about Jesus in the Bible etc.) during the years most impressionable in a child's life. My second and third grade. My beliefs in God were seemingly unbreakable. However at home, I practiced and studied a different religion. Hinduism. I have attended numerous temples where my family worshipped, and temples soon became the traditional place for an outing whenever our family reunited. We would all worship together.
As I progressed my studies in both religions, there came a problem. Hinduism is a polytheistic religion, and Christianity monotheistic. Both religions claim to be true, and the holy texts from both religions had conflicting material. Which one was the true religion? There was absolutely no reasoning or proof I could find to justify the historical accuracy of either religion.
Science was the key. When I furthured my studies in science (i.e.: Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry) I became intrigued at how nonliving matter can be the building blocks of life. I studied the origins of the Universe, origins of life, and much more. The theories they have are explanation enough to prove God does not exist, never did exist, or created any of what we see around us today. However, I said they were theories. So is science my religion? of course not. Religion is all about worshipping, and mindlessly following rules (which are for the better for society anyway, but still, let's expose it for what it is). Science is not about worship, its about questioning and finding answers. It's about studying.
  • Justifications of my Beliefs

So how can I debunk religion on the basis of theories? Theories are simply speculation. Or are they? For a theory to become law, numerous tests with constants and variables must be performed accurately and precisely. Then they have to be accepted by the scientific community. The theories which debunk religion are based solely upon evidence. I could bore you to death with articles on chemistry and science here, but I won't. The theory of evolution for example, cannot be tested. But fossil evidence shows there were evolutionary trends. So why is Darwin's theory still a theory, even though fossil evidence proves evolution occurs? Because scientists cannot test evolution in a laboratory. They can only observe it through fossils.
  • Will Everyone Be Atheist in the Future?

Evaluate the current trend. The World is straying further and further away from religion, and is accepting science more and more. Churches see this happening, and adopt a double standard. Cloning, for example, a life saving measure which could revive species from the verge of extinction is abhorred by many churches. Their double standard comes into play when they say their philosophies (i.e: outlined in the Bible and other holy texts) are in sinc with Scientific explanation. Not true! Scientific discoveries on evolution, origins, and the universe, are directly conflicting and contradicting. The only difference lies in what can be proven, and what is believed. Science can be proven, and inferred through evidence. Religion can be believed, but it cannot be proven. So are Atheists saying 91% of the world is wrong! It is impossible for the 9% of the Atheists to claim to be smarter than the rest of the world. (and no Atheist is making this claim, do note. Atheists have simply applied more critical thinking into science regardless of conflicting views, and made a judgementon testable evidence).
The Monkey Trial, which was a serious issue in the mid 1900s was a fantastic turn of events. It debunked the Biblical interpretations in favor of science. And that is where we are headed. Out with the old, in with the new. New scientific discoveries overriding the explanations of the past. The key to progress.
I doubt everyone will be Atheist in the future. There will always be poverty, and there will always be religion.
For now I only wish Churches would stop wasting charity money on ceremony, church building, worship, and "spreading the word". It would be much better spent on what the donors think their money is being spent on-- which is the less fortunate.
Who will hear an Atheists cries? None other than the agnostics, Atheists, and open minded Theists.
